The plot: Miles Morales juggles puberty and being a Spider-Man whilst Kingpin uses a super collider which transports others from the Spiderverse into his dimension.

Random observations:

Of all the alternate universe versions of Spider-Man, Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham appeared in print first and Peni Parker was the last to make her debut.

  • Spider-Ham was first introduced in "Marvel Tails Starring Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham" (November 1983)
  • Spider-Man 2099 made his official debut in "Spider-Man 2099" #1 (March 1992)
  • Spider-Man Noir first appeared in "Spider-Man: Noir #1" (February 2009)
  • The Miles Morales version of Spider-Man's first appearance was in "Ultimate Fallout" #4 (August 2011)
  • The Spider-Gwen version of Spider-Woman made her debut in "Edge of Spider-Verse" #2 (September 2014)
  • Peni Parker and SP//dr first appeared in "Edge of Spider-Verse" #5 (October 2014)

I was lucky enough to get to see this in the theater with my dad. You can pretty well immediately see that the animation style is like nothing before ever attempted.

One of the things the filmmaker did to make this movie look so unique was to not "correct" motion blur, something unheard of at the time.

I think this is the first movie I saw where I finally allowed myself to realize that dads could be hot. The original Amityville Horror is one of my favorite movies. I saw it at a young and impressionable age and I was still very open about paranormal a...

The Mad Monster (1942)

The Mad Monster (1942) RELEASED May 15, 1942 RUNTIME 77 mins  DIRECTOR Sam Newfield  WRITER Fred Myton (screenplay)  STARS Johnny Downs, George Zucco, Anne Nagel  COUNTRY United States LANGUAGE English  STUDIO Sigmund Neufeld Productions GENRES Horror Streaming on: Amazon Prime, Epix, FlixFling, TubiTV, Sling TV, DIRECTV The plot: A simple-minded handyman (who can only be described as "the obvious inspiration for Torgo") gets turned into a revenge exacting werewolf by a mad scientist. Random observations: After watching 1921's Destiny directed by Fritz Lang this morning, it's quite noticeable that the film quality of this movie has degraded greatly since the '40s and could do with a facelift. However, part of the charm of the early 40's b-movies of this budget lies in the imperfections themselves.  If you watch this film on Amazon, please note that there are no closed captions available. The soundscape of this film is akin to an arctic wolf sanc...
