The plot: The governments of the world want to regulate the activities of superheroes. Captain America and Iron Man have opposing opinions on all of this. Also, whazzup Tom Holland?

Random Observations:

  • Evidence Tony Stark may actually be my dead grandmother from upstate New York: "Who's putting coffee grounds in the disposal? What am I running a bed and breakfast for a biker gang?"
  • How many superheroes took an airline to Vienna and how many just flew using their powers? I mean if they are going to sign the Accords that basically regulate their activities, it seems like it would give a bad impression to use your superpowers to fly to this meeting. Hmm... one wonders.
  • Sponsored by Dell much?
This Something Blue watch has about a billion different plot lines, so if you are unfamiliar at the very least Marvel characters, you might not want to start here. I can't imagine this movie being someone's first introduction to Marvel. In fact, I've seen this movie over 5 times, and I still get confused sometimes.

.7/1 Directing
1/1 Cinematography
.8/1 Visual design
.6/1 Editing
.5/1 Plot
1/1 Dialogue
.6/1 Acting
.6/1 Soundtrack/Score/Sound
.6/1 Originality
.7/1 Rewatchability
Total: 7.1 Binge Bones

Verdict: This one takes a little while before it can find its pacing. Tom Holland definitely steals the show and tends to stand out more in ensemble movies than in his solo endeavors so far. However, one of the common problems with the ensemble movies is we don't feel like we get enough time with any given character.

Streaming on Hulu So I just watched the original Black Christmas for the first time a couple days ago, so it's pretty fresh in my mind. One thing that made Bob Clark's version better is that the low budget aspect of it actually contributed to the creepiness and horror. This version looks better in a lot of ways, but the polish detracts from the gritty horror that helped the 1974 version succeed better at the goal it se

Random observations:  There aren't enough female werewolf movies Come on, Hollywood! (Or Pittsburgh!) The ones that we have are great, but they don't come out often enough. #gimmemoregingersnaps This film marks the first appearance of a female as a werewolf in a talkie! WTG, Nina Foch! (You might remember her from An American in Paris.) The setting is in New Orleans, Louisiana but is very recognizable as a Hollywood backlot.  Twice-married-to Lana Turner leading man Stephen Crane is really the only actual terrible thing about this movie. It often feels like he's
